I have read many books on OBEs
and this is right at the top of the list. I am in awe...it is
just beautifully written. I am most of the way through it already.
His exercises are right on the mark. This is the most enjoyable
of OBE books that I have read. It is easy to understand with
a wealth of information. I would advise anyone who wants to
achieve an OBE to read this book. It is without a doubt a wonderfully
written..easy to understand book. I am loving it.
Sincerely,

Dear John,
I recently purchased your book and just completed it. It was
excellent! Easy to read and understand as I have been meditating
and trying the astral projection techniques for the past 5 years
and I love it. Must say that my dreams have become extremely
lucid and vivid - I can't decide whether my waking state is
a dream and/or my dream state is a reality? Hope you will write
additional books in the future.
With regards,
Pamela |

Brilliant Book
Hi John,
I'm on page 109 of Astral Projection and the Nature of Reality
and I must admit I'm blown away. I run across a lot of books
that touch on ideas and experiences I've had that seem somewhat
unique, but almost everything in your book resonates with
me. I keep stopping in amazement to say, "yes this is
exactly how I feel, or what I've always thought." For
instance; I've been saying for decades now, (I have a son
your age) that our dream life is a doorway to other realities
and that someday that will be common knowledge, especially
due to people like you who are willing to put so much time
into the experimentation.
My son has been lucid dreaming since Jr high
school and has become quite adept at it. I am so excited to
share your book with him. He started reading it during a visit
last weekend and couldn't put it down so I promised him a
copy for Christmas. Anyway, thanks so much for a brilliant
explanation of the nature of our reality and how to move around
in this multi dimensional universe. I am enjoying the exercises
and am beginning to experience new states of consciousness.

Hey John,
I never write authors but just had to let you know I just
started, "Astral Projection" and am only on page
28. The book is absolutely awesome. You get right to the point
which I like very much, are succinct and yet tell so much
in so little space. I've found the first 28 pages heavy duty
in the thinking dept & lots of impact. Very well researched
and excellent writing.
[...] I am on pg 50 now & still as glued
to it & intrigued as I was on pg. 28! I am starting a
new business so the fear part was very apropos. The first
thing I did this morning was pick up your book & my coffee
cup. My husband runs a small retail operation & we were
both reading during a lull in business. I had just started
your book. A man came in & looked over @ me & said,
"what are you reading so intently?" and I commented,
"this fascinating book called, "Astral Projection",
he interrupted, "Oh that nutty Shirley Maclaine type
stuff", & I replied, "I'm not sure about that...the
author is a technical writer and software engineer (was glad
I had read about you first @ the back of the book) and his
book seems very well researched". I then ask him his
profession and he said social psychologist which seemed to
fall right into the limiting beliefs category. I will probably
read it twice. It is a very powerful book on many levels.

Wow..., January 5, 2007
Reviewer: Gorgasmic Misanthrope
I have to say that this is probably my favorite book of all
time. Now, I'll tell you why. Not only does John Magnus walk
you through how to astral project, but he explains in depth
what astral projecting is and, even further, what life and
the universe are from an astral perspective. He manages to
do this all in a very clear, coherent, logical manner. And,
he really strives to describe the true nature of the astral,
not just a limited interpretation of it. Also, this book is
a blast to read. Every section is powerfully insightful and
his journal entries that are spread throughout the book are
at times powerful and at other times hilarious. Some of his
astral experiences are, to put it politely, interesting. Overall,
I have found this book to be most helpful in finding what
I am looking for.

Mind Opening..., July 25, 2006
Reviewer: Moor Child
Truthfully, this book begun my interest in 'exploring the
subconcious.' Intelligent and highly detailed, Magnus opened
my mind to what was beyond the physical. Although I do admit
to not fully understanding all of the material, almost every
statement and paragraph made me stop for a moment to ponder.
I expect to see John Magnus writing and publishing more books,
and I will be following them all the way.

The Premier Book on Astral Projection,
February 14, 2006
Reviewer: Tommy Wachter "Jennifer"
It took me two days to read this book because once I started
I couldn't put it down. Mr.Magnus leads us through various exercises
to show us how we too can have an astral projection. The exercises
are fun and interesting. He also adds entries from his journal
that makes the reader feel that they too can achieve the ability
to enter the astral realm.
This book is easy to read unlike many other books on the
subject which make the reader feel bogged down with specificities
which soon become boring. A beautifully written, enthusiastic
book about a subject that is surrounded in mystery.

Publishers Weekly

Part phenomenology, part introduction and part instruction manual,
this book attempts to explain the nature of astral projection
and urge readers to give it a try. Magnus, entrepreneur by day,
certified Reiki master by night, confesses early on that after
becoming interested in astral projection via the Internet and
many initial attempts to move beyond the realm of the physical,
it was sleep that opened the door to his first experience of
getting "sucked into another dimension of existence."
Magnus provides readers with exercises galore, personal journal
entries of astral experiences and a serious dose of encouragement
to join him in discovering new realms. Those readers who are
eager, like Magnus, to "get [their] mind and body in shape
for the big exit" and experience worlds "that may
or may not resemble our physical universe" have come to
the right place. Magnus is passionate about his subject, knowledgeable
in personal experience and adept at describing his topic with
clarity. Yet beyond his initial informational chapters, Magnus
presumes that, like him, "you [too] have seen the astral,"
an assumption that may or may not be accurate. Ultimately, this
is not a book that will persuade skeptics. (Jan.) |

Library Journal
This book provides information for those interested in out-of-body
experiences, from preparation to execution to exploration.
Software engineer and self-proclaimed interdimensional traveler
Magnus goes further than other authors in this area, explaining
more about the nonphysical dimensions through which the astral
adventurer can enter and travel. He gives a brief history
of astral projection, describes how we subconsciously create
astral worlds in our minds, offers techniques and exercises
to tame fears and addictions, and explains how our actions
in other dimensions affect our physical lives in this one.
Various ways to prepare for astral projection are discussed,
such as visualization, sleep states, affirmations, and attitude.
This book is an excellent and practical breakdown of current
knowledge in the area of astral projection, and the exercises,
along with the author's accounts of his out-of-body experiences,
make his account extremely readable and enjoyable. Suitable
for all public libraries and for specialized collections dealing
with New Age and perhaps even psychology materials.-Brad Eden,

The latest research in quantum physics tells us that our
so-called material is actually filled with nothing. The tiny
particles that scientists used to think were the basic building
blocks of the universe turn out to be made of smaller particles,
which in turn aren't really particles at all, but swirling
patterns of energy. The physical reality that the mind perceives
is only an interpretation of what"s actually there, which
is nothing. Reality is an illusion.
This description comes from John Magnus in Astral Projection
and the Nature of Reality as a way of explaining the co-existence
of the astral realm with our physical world. Most scientists
say that the astral realm cannot exist because it cant
be proven; its all in the mind. Magnus counters, Where
else would it be? If our experience of the world around us
is a mental interpretation, why wouldnt our experience
in the astral also be an interpretation of what the mind actually
experiences during certain states of consciousness? For example,
when one enters dreamtime in full consciousness, it becomes
possible to co-create the experience with the subconscious.
The experiences in the astral world are directly responsive
to the observers state of mind. Astral matter - the
things that populate the astral realm are derived from
your every thought, fear, and expectation. In this realm,
imagination is the best vehicle for safely navigating through
the unknown territory of your own mind. Your moods and beliefs
will shape the experience, so check them at the door before
entering.
Astral Projection is part personal journal and part guide.
The author bases his advice on his experiences in the astral
realm, as well as his readings and interpretations of some
of the classic astral travelers, including Carlos Castaneda,
Ruth Montgomery, Whitley Strieber, Robert Monroe, James Redfield,
and Jane Roberts. In his day job, the author is a software
designer, and sees the physical realm that we all experience
together as a description of whats there, a kind of
virtual reality. Its something we all co-created and
hold together with our shared beliefs and expectations of
how reality should be. In the astral realm, the individual
isnt constrained by shared beliefs, so that the experiences
all emerge from ones own mind.
To get the best possible adventure in the astral realm takes
some preparation. Magnus prepares the astral traveler through
four circles, which are basically four sections in his book.
Beginning with Circle One, the reader discovers how the ego
is necessary for survival, but its needs block the astral
experience. Many exercises are included within each circle
to help let go of personal beliefs and the other obstacles
to getting the best out of your astral travels. Each chapter
includes passages from the authors astral journal, so
one can feel and experience what he experiences, and follow
his learning curve. In Circle Two, you may make your first
visit to the astral realm. Pop! Youre out of your body
and in full consciousness traveling wherever you want to go.
To fully understand how this process works, Magnus describes
the various stages of sleep and explains how to remain aware
as sleep hormones begin to shut down the body. Affirmations
and visualizations help trick the rationalizing ego so that
intuition takes over. In this circle, the author shows the
reader how to overcome certain fears that might block the
astral experience, and how attitude and intention shape your
experiences.
Circle Three discusses addictions, attractions, and other
mental matters that you may experience while astral traveling.
Now you may learn to create positive experiences by achieving
mental clarity. Circle Four steps back to look at the larger
reality, the nature of our universe. Here the reader explores
the meaning of life, the existence of the soul, and how the
physical existence that we all experience together is just
another dream. Astral Projection is a lucid, mind-blowing
guide to our multi-dimensional, sublimely flexible reality.
